Housing association wins award

A housing association for West London caused a buzz of excitement when it won an award for the best stand at an exhibition.

Shepherd's Bush Housing Group, which has 5,000 homes across Hammersmith and Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster, was judged as holding the best stand out of 150 exhibitors at a session for potential volunteers called Forum 3 in Islington last Friday and Saturday.

It exhibited a flowered garden complete with fake grass and two human-sized bees buzzing around to tempt people onto the stand.

Human resources director David Blackburn said: "I'm delighted people loved the stand and it was a fabulous surprise to be the 'Visitors' Choice.'

"I am especially delighted that it was voted for by visitors who are the people who really count."
