Yacine Van Erpe, a 31-year-old French Algerian, is at large and believed to be around London carrying a knife.

Police think he is responsible for stabbing a man in the stomach and chest with a large kitchen knife at the Casablanca Cafe in Harrow Road, which is popular with the French Algerian community.

A teenager who helped a man bleeding from a life-threatening knife wound was praised at a police commendation ceremony.

Despite having no first aid experience, Kerry Flynn, who was 16 at the time, held a scarf to the gushing neck wound of Vanildo Fernandez after he was attacked on a bus.

Life for savage niece

A woman who stabbed her sex-abusing Uncle more than 100 times in an "unbelievably savage" killing has been given a life sentence.

Maria Calero, 22, of Hammersmith, murdered Eduardo Mendoza, 49, three days after telling police she had wounding him in the back.

She was told by police to return three days later for an interview, but shortly after she stabbed her uncle 111 times while her brother filmed the frenzied attack on a mobile phone.

Police swoop crackhouse

Police swooped on a crack house in Shepherd's Bush and arrested 13 people for a range of crimes.

The property in Aldine Court was raided early in the morning and subsequently boarded up following a three month closure order by the West London Magistrates' Court.

It led to the arrest of 13 people for Grievous Bodily Harm, possession of Class A drugs and fraud.

Brawl at Lyric Theatre

A fight broke out among a group of youths during a production by young actors at the Lyric theatre on Wednesday (sept 17).

The interruption left one actress in tears and all of the mainly young cast from the National Theatre of Scotland, walked off the stage after the fracas which followed almost an hour of taunting from a section of the audience of 300 at the Hammersmith venue.

Career burglar jailed

A career burglar was jailed last week for two-and-a-half years after getting caught red-handed with an armful of booze.

Anthony Brandon, 49, was caught red-handed on a pub patio with the spirits after the landlady called police.

Brandon, of Aintree Estate, Fulham, who has convictions for 74 offences including dozens of burglaries, has spent almost half of his life behind bars.

A prominent judge celebrated his 60th birthday party with his friends and colleagues at a party at West London Magistrates' Court.

Hammersmith and Fulham's new borough commander has got on his bike to tackle crime and get to know his borough.
